Everus Communications Inc. & Crossover Distribution.com Corp team up to provide Wireless Broadband to County of Grey and County of Dufferin
Government of Ontario sponsored project fuels rural broadband deployments into underserved markets...
March 27, 2008, Mississauga, ON - Everus Communications, formerly known as High-Speed FX Communications was established in 2001 and currently maintains one of the largest broadband wireless networks in Canada, covering approximately 40,000 square kilometres in Southeastern Ontario. Crossover Distribution.com Corp, is a value-added distributor of wireless broadband, in-building cellular, telecom and CATV technologies to the North American marketplace. Crossover is the leading supplier of wireless broadband technologies to wireless internet service providers in Canada
Everus has recently been awarded the County of Grey and County of Dufferin projects to design, equip, build and maintain a wireless high-speed broadband internet network in both counties under the Government of Ontario's Rural Broadband Partnership Program. Crossover Distribution has been chosen as the main technology partner to supply the required wireless infrastructure and subscriber equipment to allow businesses and residences to connect to these networks. In turn, Everus has selected Trango Broadband’s high-capacity, licensed and license-exempt fixed broadband wireless technologies to ensure the best balance of performance, throughput and range to provide service to the 3000 underserved subscribers throughout both counties.
The Dufferin project will address a significant lack of high speed internet service experienced by more than one third of residents and approximately fifty percent of the small businesses within the County of Dufferin.
The County of Grey has identified eleven townships or regions of the county that are currently not served by existing high speed internet providers. The new service from Everus will be available to most of these regions by the end of September 2008.
"Everus Communications is pleased to be working with Crossover's support to offer the very best Broadband services available to rural residents in underserved areas. Broadband connectivity is the new Utility, like telephone and electricity, and we are committed to giving rural residents and businesses the service they need to participate in social and economic life equally with their urban counterparts."
"Crossover is very pleased to be working with Everus Communications on these two very exciting projects,' commented Darin Gibbons, VP of Sales & Marketing at Crossover. " We take great pride in being able to do our part in helping to provide equal access to the internet for Canadians regardless of where they live."
"Everus Communications is an experienced internet service provider with a great track record and we are very confident that they will provide a reliable and cost-effective solution to the residents of the Counties of Grey and Dufferin," added John Taylor, President of Crossover.
